Round 4 v Dingley at Donald McDonald

Umpire Appreciation Round
Conditions: Cold & Muddy (just the way some boys like it)

First Quarter
The first half against Dingley was a slow start for both the parents and players. Dingley got the jump at the start while the Sharks were still dreaming of their first win.  The Coffee Van assisted  the revival process for the adults  with the de-fib close at hand. The opposition dominated possession and led the chase with a score of 3 goals 6 behinds to our 1 point. Max Heath took a sensational mark, and good defensive work by Lachlan Morrison. Coach urged the players to make a conscious decision to call each other for the footy and to be competitive for the footy. Lochie Leason received praise for running 10 paces and  Darin encouraged everyone to do the same.

Second Quarter
Most remembered for lacking drive. Not hungry enough for the footy and a much bigger effort required to “get fair dinkum”.

Third Quarter
Clearly the Coach’s words  at half time motivated the team, ”Awesome stuff to Clark and he reminded the rest of the team that the game is not finished”. The third quarter saw the team play competitively  and was  inspired by Lachie Archer’s great mark.  Our total score (except for one behind in the second) was kicked in the third quarter.

Fourth Quarter
A tense last quarter with Nate kicking to the goal square with a fantastic mark by co - captain Henry  Lewis. Final score was 32 to Dingley & 27 Beau Sharks.

Well done to all the boys who fought hard. Darin urged the boys to play all 4 quarters in Round 6 by supporting each other.
