Boggy grounds, freezing conditions and rain on and off couldn't hold back the Houndsharks from taking out the Lightning Premiership yesterday in the Burke Division.
After winning the first two games Houndsharks trailed Oakleigh at half time in the final game. The Premiership would be taken out by the winner of this game and the Sharks had lost some of their earlier momentum.
Softy obviously got tough at half time and after kicking just 2 behinds in the first half we didn't stop spraying the goals!!! Kicking 1 goal and 6 behinds, and holding Oakleigh scoreless, we ran out winners by 8 points.
The Lightning Premiership was ours - making it two in a row for some our former U9's!!!
Well done Sharks - you deserved to win yesterday after 3 consistent performances where we saw lots of bravery, commitment to the ball and to your team and lots of resilience in trying conditions.
A fantastic finish to the season, we're all very proud of you!
